As a developer and advocate of web standards, he is well known for his involvement with the community through his blog, Lachy’s Log, participation in various mailing lists, including WSG, and involvement with the development of web standards including HTML and CSS through public mailing lists and, more recently, as a W3C Invited Expert.

Sarah Blow is a software engineer and .Net developer. She has been working in the industry since 2004 and has a passion for technology, the mobile web and innovation. Sarah founded London Girl Geek Dinners in 2005 and the events have been growing ever since.

Ten questions for Peter-Paul Koch

Peter-Paul Koch has lived in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, all his life. He is a freelance web developer – which means you can hire him – specializing in client side programming – HTML, CSS, JavaScript, with emphasis on the latter. In addition he writes rather a lot and he teaches CSS and JavaScript courses whenever he can. He has recently released a book titled “ppk on JavaScript”.

Donna is a freelance information architect and interaction designer. She has been designing structures and interfaces for websites, intranets, web applications and business tools professionally for more than 5 years, and has been hanging around the internet for much longer than that. Donna is an experienced speaker and has presented at many events, most recently at the Information Architecture Summit in Montreal as well as Webstock New Zealand. Donna has also developed and presented very popular workshops on information architecture; interaction design and usability topics. She writes a weblog, imaginatively called DonnaM.

For several years now I have been fascinated by the Web Design Reference – a huge and well-maintained collection of web design links.

The site it run single-handedly by Laura Carlson – a perfect candidate for ten questions. Laura is an information technology professional with accomplishments in web standards design and development, CSS, (X)HTML, accessibility, usability, information architecture, photography, and digital imaging. Beyond these, she has expertise in higher education, management, organizational leadership, strategic planning, distance learning, training, learning technologies, instructional design, and technology documentation. Her education includes a Bachelors and Masters degree.

Ten Questions for Gian Sampson Wild

I’m very excited to have finally cornered Gian Sampson Wild for the first of a new series of “Ten questions” interviews.

Gian Sampson Wild has worked in the accessibility industry for over seven years. She ran the accessibility consultancy PurpleTop for five years and built the automated accessibility testing tool PurpleCop. Gian worked as the accessibility consultant for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games for over two years and trained Microsoft developers on how to maintain the accessibility of the site. Gian has been a Member of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Working Group for over six years and has spent a significant amount of time working on WCAG, Version 2.0.
