@peter: This design is based on hiding the heading and using a background image to display the site name.

However, you do not need to use this method at all. If you want, you can leave the site name in place and avoid using the ‘left: -500em” all together.

sorry to be picky but was unable to display the sitename because of the H1 style “left: -500em;”. works fine with 500em;

Really a very well run website on CSS. I prefer to write everything down and then enter everything in to the pages manually. I’m using Dreamweaver and notepad. Now all I need do is go into Photoshop and make the graphics.

Do find it helps to name my closing divs with comments (!–header close–) etc.
