CSS LiVE

Have you ever wanted to learn CSS but put it off? Well, now is your chance to learn CSS from scratch via SitePoint’s online CSS cource – CSS LiVE.

Why learn via CSS live?

  • The course is broken into simple lessons over two weeks
  • Four days per week (Monday to Thursday) you will be given a new lesson
  • The lessons include an introductory video telling you about the day’s lesson, a screencast, a slideshow presentation and some related articles.
  • Each Friday we will do a live Q&A – where I live chat with the course participants to answer their questions.

The course starts on 5 July 2010 and costs only $9.95. If it is anything like SitePoint’s JavaScript LiVE, there will be a lot of interest, so it may be worth registering soon if you are interested!

I’m very excitied and I hope you are too. Hope to see you at the course. (And I promise not to wave my arms around like I do in the video above!)

I’ve been to two of Russ’s workshops on CSS and I strongly recommend you check this out. When it’s taught well from someone like Russ it’s easy to learn.

  2. Russ says:

Hi Jonathon, thanks for the nice words. The cheque is in the mail ;)

Hi Russ, this is a really nice idea! I’d like some more info though, for example:

    1. Does it matter from what part of the world I come from? (Time difference, …)
    2. I don’t have a PayPal account and don’t have experience with cross-country payments, what are my options? :)

    Thanks,
    Ollie

The course is designed so that you can take part from anywhere in the world.

Participants are given an assignment each Monday to Thursday on both weeks. Participants can choose when to do these assignments – any time on the day it is given, or even any time that week. Some people work during the week and use the Saturday and Sunday to catch up – so it does not matter where you are or what time zone you are in.

The Live Q and A session is going to be conducted twice each week – so people in different time zones can join in. From memory (Shayne can give us exact times) it is going to happen at 7pm each Friday evening (GMT+10) and then 6am every Saturday morning (GMT +10). This means that people can choose the best time zone for them.

I’ll let the SitePoint crew reply re payment :)

    Does this help?

i’m taking the course and i’m learning a lot of new in depth details even though i’ve been coding css for over a year and been coding with javascript and php for almost 10 years.

you will definetly learn new css related skills. The price is unbeatable and the user forum is very active.
